Literary Magazine Spring Poetry Contest

The CMS Literary Magazine is hosting a Spring into Poetry contest! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive Amazon gift cards! Submit via the lit mag website - by May 11th. Let your words bloom and Spring into Poetry!

**Middle School Cheerleading Tryouts POSTPONED**
As of 4/15/21, Middle School Cheerleading tryouts have been postponed until next school year. Tryouts will be held in August.  


The Odyssey of the Mind team (comprised of 4 current CMS 6th grade students and 3 current Kittredge 6th graders) won the Problem 3, Division 2 State Tournament on Saturday, April 10. The entire team will be Chamblee Middle School students by the time the team competes at World Finals in Orlando in June.

National History Day
Congratulations to the following students for their accomplishments in the 2021 National History Day competition. Working virtually on NHD on their own this year, these students were all recognized for their outstanding projects.

CMS Students Take 1st Place at Technology Fair


Congratulations to Colin Krueger and Johannes Els for winning 1st place in the Video Production category in the DeKalb County Technology Fair. Their project now advances to the virtual GASTC - 2021 Georgia Virtual Student Technology Competition. We're proud of you, Colin & Hannes!

Reading Bowl Team Comes in 3rd in Region

Congratulations to the CMS Reading Bowl team for their outstanding performance at the Metro Regional Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl competition (held virtually this year) on Saturday, February 20. The team finished in 3rd place out of 12 strong teams. The team advanced to the Region competition after coming in 2nd place at the DeKalb County Reading Bowl competition held in January.
 Congratulations on an impressive season, Reading Bowl team!
Spelling Bee Finalists

Congratulations to 7th grader Rachael Staskiewicz (winner of the CMS Spelling Bee). At the district Spelling Bee, Rachael qualified to represent the DeKalb County School District in the Region 4 Georgia Association of Educators (GAE) Spelling Bee which will be conducted in February through the Scripps Online Platform. Good luck, Rachael! We are proud of you!
